Reasons for trip

Royal Ascot Race Course on Ladies Day what could be better? well sunshine would help. I have been to Ladies day now for the last two years, 2010 we needed suncream and loved every minute of the day. The next year 2011 we needed brollies and wellingtons and we again loved every minute. This year we will be there again and I am writing this in January as I am sure with the Diamond Jubilee the tickets will be much harder to get this year. The silver ring is where all the `people of a normal income` go and it is full of atmosphere, high heels, queuing for the posh porta cabin loos, drinking champagne with your picnic and seeing the Queen. There are a few horse races along the way and you might even pick yourself a winner. I picked the Gold Cup winner last year but as it was a favorite and I only put two quid on I only won a fiver. The Silver Ring has a grandstand area so if you are quick you can get a good spot for seeing the Royal Procession. If not then you risk life and limb being quashed against the railings. People watching is most of the fun and the hats are very creative. My daughter thought Ladies Day meant there would not be any men and she was very impressed with all the suited and booted guys to watch from under her hat. By the end of the day their are some very drunk people lurching back to the coach parks but truly it is not to be missed.
