I would have used a minus rating but unfortunately that is not a choice.

My advice DO NOT use this company.

We booked our holiday (Jewels of Croatia) in September 2017 for departure 14 May 2018.

The holiday was clearly advertised with the 7 days on Brac island being at the ‘’Waterman Resorts, Supetar’’, not the Waterman Milna Resort. Saga’s letter of the 20th April (which was not even posted first class – it didn’t arrive until the 26th April, 19 days before the departure date) is very disingenuous; it is not a case of the ‘’latest brochure may have suggested’’ the hotel would be the Supetar hotel, all the advertising said it was the Supetar hotel, and that is the holiday we purchased. If it was wrongly advertised, with respect, that is not our fault, or indeed our problem. Had the holiday been advertised with half the total holiday length in hotel accommodation at Milna we would not have booked it. The two hotels and the two locations are very different; the Mila hotel is not as good as the Supetar one, as can be seen by the comparative prices for the rooms and the Trip Adviser reviews. The location at Milna does not suit our needs. We would want to have easy access around the island by public transport, and easy access to the Ferry to Split, neither of which the Milna hotel has; we are not the sort of people who want to sit in the hotel for a week, we want to be able to get around and explore.

We have contacted Sagas ‘Customer Relations’ and have received appalling customer service, that is, when you find someone available who’s not on a ‘team building’ day.

We have given Saga until 5pm today to comply with the terms of our contract and book us into a room at the Waterman Resort Supetar on an all inclusive basis, or if there is now no longer any accommodation available at that hotel (and we will be checking) then into another hotel in Supetar of an equivalent quality (according to Q rating, price and reviews) to be approved by us in advance on an all inclusive basis. If they fail to do so we will be issuing proceedings for breach of contract and claiming significant compensation, to cover all out of pocket expenses incurred by us to ensure our holiday experience is as advertised by Saga, and this may include, but is not limited to, booking our own accommodation for the week in Supetar on an all inclusive basis (this may now be more expensive because of the late notice of the change and our imminent departure date), or any additional travel/transport costs, food and drinks costs as well as compensation for inconvenience, if no other suitable accommodation can be secured at this late stage. In essence, we want you to comply with your contract.

We shall wait and see.
