My husband I have just completed our first ever escorted tour. This 8 day tour is absolutely amazing. On The Go Tours were fantastic from start to finish. I cannot fault any of the processes from booking through to our return. Everything was fantastic.
The Totally Jordan Tour is amazing and I believe that this tour is a must for all who enjoy travel. This was our first experience of a group tour and we did have a little fear and trepidation at doing one for the first time aged 66 and 67. However we should not have worried. The visa process and transfer from the airport was first class and put us at ease straight away. The group was made up of a wide age range and a mix of couples and singles and what brought them together was a love of travel and this ensured that the group got on well and helped each other out.Our tour guide, Ogla, was wonderful and was very good at making sure our group were happy and agreed on what we would do each day. We were able to make the most of the time and activities on the trip due to his excellent guidance. The programme of visits is excellent and is at a good pace and takes you to all the main places of interest in Jordan including Amman, Um Qais, Mount Nebo, Umm at Rasas, Jerash, Kerak, Madaba, Petra, Wadi Mujib and Wadi Rum.We had plenty of time at Petra and were able to do the Petra by Night visit as well as a day in Petra including a walk to The Monastery. The following day we revisited and then went to Little Petra. The optional extra of a cookery course at Petra kitchen was excellent and we really enjoyed the food we prepared. The 4 by 4 trip around Wadi Rum was fantastic and we stopped at various points to admire the views and the area Laurence of Arabia lived in. Some of the group rolled down the sand dunes and climbed up to the rock bridge but we opted out of these. The night at The Rainbow Camp was wonderful and we ate an excellent dinner that had been cooked in the sand. Luckily we are fairly fit and we both enjoyed the river trek in Wadi Majib. I only made it up 2 waterfalls but my husband made it up to the end. I had researched the trek beforehand and knew what to expect and it is not a “moderate trek” as described in the trip no"On The Go Tours -Totally Jordan":https://www.onthegotours.com/Jordan/Totally-Jordan-8-Days tes. Those who do not feel that they can manage the hike can opt to spend the afternoon at the hotel at the Dead Sea. Ogla found very reasonable options for lunch and was excellent at explaining the history and culture of the country. The only slight negative is that the final hotel in the Dead Sea, which although lovely, is geared up for families at the weekend and tours end there at the weekend.. This means lots of children running around, entertainment and loud music all day that can even be heard on the beach. This was rather a culture shock after the lovely, small, quiet hotels used earlier in the tour and we would prefer a smaller quieter hotel to finish the tour and relax.
