Huge model railway layout, highly detailed models of both trains & buildings with interactive parts to engage the kids both big & little, plus story boards on various aspects of communist Hungary which made interesting reading. It is situated in middle of Budapest with nearby bus stops, easy to walk round on one level, you progress from one room to another with scenes from Austria & Germany as well as Hungary. For more information & photos look at the trip advisor reviews.

Thank you that is very helpful. I can get an impression of what it is like now. I do like the idea of buttons you can press to operate the layouts. I do find it frustrating if you go to a model railway exhibition and the exhibitors are spending all their time tinkering with teh locos or layout rather than operating!

In reply to your comments ,it is HO gauge ,continental outline,as for the size the frontages are probably 20' + 40' + 20 'then into another room with 25' + 25' all about 6' deep
When we visited it was not busy -us & 3 other couples- & you can easily see everything & there are several spots where there are buttons to press which operate various items on the layout, some obvious ,some less so,you tend to go in one direction but you can easily retrace your steps, you can easily spend between 2- 4hours there depending on how long you wish to study the trains ,the scenery, operate the various items & study the story boards about Communist Hungary.there are no seats in the exhibition itself but it does have a small cafe with a limited menu where you can sit down & also toilets . I suggested trip advisor as it has all the details such as address ,opening times, etc, but most importantly a number of photographs from which you can judge the size & complexity of the of the model railway- Hope this helps

I've always enjoyed model railways - ever since the days I had a Hornsby O gauge when I was little. When you say huge, just how huge is huge? What scale is the track layout and railway?

How busy doe it get and can you see everything easily without people in the way? How long would you recommend for a visit and are there seats for when legs get tired from standing?

Actually I'd much rather have more information from you rather than Trip Advisor!!!
