A family run walking holiday business based in the Spanish village of Competa near Malaga, Andalucia, Spain. They offer guided walks based on Competa, where you stay in a village house and eat at local restaurants – offering a complete Spanish experience. The groups are not large – 6 – 12 people, and give walks based on the group’s ability (up to around 10km). I went as a single traveller, and the group was mixed in age and ability (ages 40 – 75 i.e. myself!). All thoroughly enjoyed the walks in the surrounding hills of the National Park. Highly recommended and very well organised – and not your usual ‘touristy’ thing.

They also offer guided walks from place to place, and also can arrange self-guided walks.

Thank you - you can take a risk booking with an unknown company. I'm glad this one turned up trumps. It's definitely one to remember.

I was looking on Google for a cheaper walking holiday than established companies offer, and came across Spanish Steps. So I took a chance - and it turned out extremely well. I have since by chance met another couple who have been on the same holiday and they also had a fantastic time and would thoroughly recommend it.

This sounds wonderful. How did you find out about this - had you been recommended or was it a random google search?
