Do not travel with this company. We arrived back from a week in Tenerife over Christmas at 4am on 28th December. 6.1/2 hours late and completely without help. We were a party of 3, a 92 year old who needed special assistance and a 73 year old, 4 months on from a double heart bypass, then myself, OK when we started! Apart from a few niggles, the journey out and the holiday were OK, as was the hotel. The journey home started well, a Mercedes to the airport, wheel chair waiting and well looked after. Not a bad flight, until – - "Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls (YUK) we cannot go into Leeds due to fog. Either Doncaster or back to Manchester. Circled over Leeds for 20 mins. “L and G, B and G’s” Can’t go to Manchester Airport (MAN) on our way to East Midlands!!!!!! 10 mins, “L and G, B and G’s” MAN have agreed to allow us to land!! So we landed, at 9.15pm, 3/4 hour late. And there we sat in the plane for more than an hour. At last buses came but no lift for the 5 wheelchair passengers!! Eventually we were “encouraged” by the crew to walk down the steps!! We agreed as long as there was a bus with seats and a wheelchair waiting in the terminal. We practically carried Mother, 92, down the steps, then onto the bus. At the terminal no wheel chairs!!!

This 92 year-old then had to walk to immigration, she was nearly dead on her feet. Then, as we were so far behind every other passenger, our luggage had ‘disappeared’. It took another hour with NO help from Jet 2 to find it. There was no support, no officials, no J2 personnel, nothing!! At last we got out thro’ customs – - – No personnel , no one except milling passengers. No one from our flight. No coaches, nothing. I lost it!!! I ran after a police car cruising around in the rain, and had ‘hysterics’ explaining 92 year old in wheel chair, husband with heart bypass, lost luggage, no help!! They then found 2 MAN staff, who were actually very good but worried. Also AT LAST a Jet2 girl, and later a man, who ushered us through to departures, spookily empty almost like a ghost airport. There we sat in silence for another long time.

At last J2 man, admitted they thought everyone had been accounted for on the coaches!! Check list, ticking etc asked my husband?!! There was actually another group of 5 who hooked up with us, after the police started to help. So J2 got a mini bus and it took 8 of us to Leeds Bradford Airport!! We arrived there at 3.15am, shattered and feeling ill, still with a 3/4 hour car journey ahead of us.

We will not be flying with Jet2 again, and they will receive an official complaint from us.
