It was well maintained and had much pine wood furniture from the immediate woodland it is just by the Rhine in a village. Trains pass through but there is no official stop except for boats.

The accommodation is on two levels reached by many passages these are dimly lit at night as are the staircases so for the wary a lift should be used I left behind my wind up helmet torch (at home).

The food is wholesome but there are no choices, I noticed however the soups are recommended and the vegetables are served in sauces, the local brew was not sampled but the regional wines are worthy of note their Schnapps was akin to vodka or Yugoslavian brandy not to everyone’s taste.

The place Bornhofen is just a village there is a Lidl store or Aldi and a Catholic Church (Franciscan) the sites are the peaks of the Fueding Brothers I was partly intrigued but not too pleased with the Carrier Harry Shaw it was an experience
being booked in the wrong seat and experiencing indifference from the Driver whom had 8 spare full of onboard snacks to sell.

My complaint when I returned (I would not risk being banned from the coach my insurance was just essentials) went over the customers services head and the Driver was said to have offered me a seat.

I sent my story to the Coventry Evening Telegraph.
