After a busy summer we decided to book a week of camping break with Canvas holiday in Duinrell, Wassenaar, Holland. We like camping in September because it is usually cheaper and less busy.

We booked a large caravan with 3 bed rooms and 2 shower rooms from Canvas holiday. The caravan is large enough to sleep 6 people. The Duinrell campsite is amazing. It is snested in the huge woodland nature reserved area. It is also quite close the sand dunes and the beach.

The camp site was clean and well maintain. There are several restaurants, cafe, supermarkets, a bike rental hut and shower blocks. The main attractions on the campsite are the giant Tiki topical water park and the huge amusement park. There were all types of waterslides like the Space bowl, Pelican and the Canon ball. Unfortunately all those activities were too energetic for us. We were happy with the relaxing Lazy river ride, the steam room, the sauna and the Jacuzzi. The pool cost
€4 per person for 2 hours. All the rides in the amusement Park are free for the guests in the campsite. There were exciting fast rides like the Falcon Roller coaster, the mad mill, the aqua swing and the splash. Unfortunate we had to give that a miss. We picked some gentle rides like the mono rail, the spinning wheel and toboggan. We did give the splash a go and got ourselves very wet. Fortunately we were not too far from our caravan.

The caravan was well equipped with all the mod con. There was a full size cooker, dish washer and a fridge. The canvas holiday courier left us a bottle of wine on the table as a welcome gift. It was a nice touch. There were normal 3 pin sockets on the wall which are handy for charging up cameras and phones. Outside the caravan it was equipped with a gas BBQ and dinning furniture. The BBQ enable us to dine Alfresco every evening.

Camping in Holland would not be complete without a bike ride. We hired a bike each for two days and we cycles along the coast to Hague and Scheveningen. We also stopped for some coffee and Dutch apples pies along the way.

It was a busy and enjoyable holiday. The accommodation was good and the location of the campsite superb. The facilities were brilliant. The weather in September was still warm enough for a lot of the outdoor activities. I would recommend this holiday to others.
