I visited Edinburgh last week to see the Pandas with my friend. Yes, the Pandas were lovely and it was worth the trip to see them. We also wanted to see the rest of the zoo as they advertise some interesting animals, including Koala Bears (unusual for a UK zoo).

However, I was very disappointed and unable to see any other animal in the zoo! The website will tell you that it is wheelchair-friendly and there are paths for wheelchairs etc., but be warned, the whole zoo is on a huge hill and very steep. I was in a wheelchair, so was advised to take the safari bus to the top of the hill and walk/wheel down to see the animal enclosures. We saw nothing on the way up on the bus as the enclosures are not near the road. Then we got to the top only to discover that it was far too steep to hold a wheelchair, let alone wheel yourself down the hill (nothing tells you this before you visit). We stayed on the safari bus down the hill, still not having seen any other animals and then left, extremely disappointed!

I'm sure it is a lovely zoo if you are fit and able-bodied, but please beware, if you have any mobility problems, this is not the zoo for you!
