At $15.50 per person, each way, this was a cost effective way to get to central Manhattan from JFK airport. The Airporter bus starts at Terminal 7 (where BA flights from the UK arrive), so there’s no problem getting seated, before it does the pick-ups at the other terminals. First stop in town is Grand Central Station, where they change to ‘vans’ (mini-bus?) to take you to local hotels, or to Penn Station. We didn’t use this, instead carrying on to the other stop just a few minutes away – the Port Authority Bus Terminal – beside which our hotel (Staybridge Suites – see separate review) was located. We bought our tickets online and had no trouble in finding the bus on arrival. Total time from T7 to the Port Authority Bus Terminal was 90 minutes (and that during a busy time of day, by the look of things). Return trip was equally straightforward. The bus also operates to the other NY airports.
