I've used the Eurostar before but never taken a car on the Eurotunnel. I was looking forward to being in a car, in a train, in a tunnel, at its deepest point some 250m below sea level. Check in is easy, you are given a letter tag to hang over your rear view mirror, then you can go for a coffee or other pit stop. There are screens that let you know when your letter is boarding, then you are directed to a queue, similar to boarding a ferry. We boarded the train & were on the upper deck, not a huge amount of room as we had a biggish car, but ample & no problem. The attendant checked we knew to switch off, have the car in gear & bang on time we were off. Very smooth, we had our breakfast in the car as it was an early morning train, then took advantage of the toilet facilities that are beside the cars. At about 35 min the journey zips by & we were quickly starting our engines to leave the train, still bang on time. So I was very impressed at the smooth & efficient service. Its worth saying that sometimes my wife can get a little panicky in tunnels, but as she was in the car most of the time, it didn't really seem like you were in a tunnel, so she enjoyed the journey through the longest undersea tunnel in the world.

I love the Eurotunnel. It is so quick to get across to France from Britain.
