Took advantage of easyJet’s ‘take and earlier flight’ option when returning from Nice to London recently. This is not something you have to pay for with a ‘flexible’ ticket – if you arrive at the airport early and there’s space on an earlier flight back to destination on your original booking, you can take advantage of their ‘free of charge transfer on the same day subject to flight availability’ offering. The outward and return flights must be booked together (i.e. have the same booking reference).

You ask for the free transfer at the easyJet airport sales desk, and you then have to go to check-in.

For flights returning to London, Milan, Paris and Rome, you can return to a different airport in the same city from the one on your booking – i.e London (Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Southend are interchangeble); same for Milan (Linate, Malpensa); Paris (CDG, Orly); and Rome (Ciampino, Fiumicino).

If in doubt, go to easyjet website ‘help’ section and put ‘take an earlier flight’ into the search box.
