My friend and I stayed at Chy Morvah for three nights on an HF Holidays 'Freedom Break'. Instead of the guided walks we were given an OS map and booklet of local walks. Walking leaders were there to ask advice from. This was ideal as we wanted to spend quality time together relaxing and walking whilst catching up. This proved to be the perfect place as a single room supplement was just £8 per night. Whilst I often take issue over a single bed in a room having a supplement, it was worthwhile. The rooms weren't lavish but very comfortable. Some of the rooms are very small so it's best to check on booking. Breakfast and supper were communal but this proved to be very friendly and good to chat with the other guests about local walks etc.. Food was first class and dietary needs are catered for. In the evening we enjoyed the low key and very friendly activities, quiz, folk music and some guests choosing to entertain on the last night. Not me! There was no pressure to do this. An unexpected delight at the end of the day was a swim in the hotel's heated swimming pool. Great for sore legs! Very pretty gardens to relax in. It was so nice there that I hope to return on a walking holiday there with HF Holidays. If you go for the full week there is also a trip to the Minnack theatre. A very homely place with a lovely atmosphere. Great for singles, couples, families or friends.
