Another Christmas dinner but what a difference. As an ex Wren I was delighted to receive an invitation to this Christmas Luncheon, together with two other ex Wrens from the Birmingham Branch. The Not Forgotten Association is a Tri-Service Charity Founded in 1920, providing entertainment and recreation for the serving wounded and for ex service men and women with disabilities. Every year they hold events in different regions to raise funds, including a Buckingham Palace Garden Party, and these annual luncheons to name a few..

The Holiday Inn hosted and after a Sherry Reception in the De Limesi Foyer, we were served a first class traditional Christmas meal while being entertained by the Swingtime Sweethearts. Three very talented ladies who got us singing all the old forces songs we know so well and carols, etc..There were groups of ex servicemen and women from the West Midlands area, some proudly displaying their medals. It was a memorable occasion with such good company.

The Holiday Inn is a great place to have a meal all year round and has very good conference facilities. It is popular in Solihull for its Club Motivation with a good sized gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room and various keep fit classes are available. Just across the road is the Touchwood Shopping Centre with a good restaurant choice, excellent shops and a cinema. Always a warm welcome from the staff and a very good place to stay for a short break.
