I took advantage of a recent, excellent value Travelzoo offer to treat my husband and I to a 3 course lunch (with a glass of Prosecco, coffee and petit fours) to celebrate his birthday.

We dined at the Garden Restaurant within Stoke Place Hotel, Slough. Both the meal and the hotel were absolutely delightful. Stoke Place is a sixteenth century Queen Anne Manor House within 26 acre grounds landscaped by Capability Brown. The decor and furnishings were stunning and the service impeccable.

The lunch menu was extensive, with a choice of 5 dishes at each course. The menu items were exotic, combining unusual ingredients, flavours and textures. Each course was beautifully presented on unusual tableware – they looked almost too good to eat!

In addition, and at no extra charge, we were given a few dishes from their 'Taster Menu' and a choice of 3 delicious bread varieties, still warm from the oven. For example, we enjoyed a 'palate cleanser' between courses of 'Lemongrass Sorbet, Pickled Ginger and Lime Crisp'.

We left the Restaurant replete and very satisfied with our dining experience.
