I've marked this restaurant as serving international food as it does advertise various specials such as some evenings it has all you can eat Chinese buffets and curry nights, but the main daily menu is British food.

The Brewers Fayre in Woodhorn makes a good stopping off place if you are travelling by car in South East Northumberland, although it does involve turning off the A1 to reach it. I say a good stopping off place because as well as good food and good service, it is relaxing, overlooking a lake and it has a play area for children.

To reach the Brewers Fayre when travelling north or south on the A1 follow the directions for Morpeth, then Woodhorn Colliery Museum, The Brewers Fayre is in the entrance to Queen Elizabeth ll Country Park, the turning just after the Woodhorn Museum.

The restaurant is all on the ground floor, as are the WC, which makes it suitable for those with poor mobility (although some but not al areas of the restaurant have a step), the large glass windows look over a grassed area to a lake. The car park is immediately outside the restaurant.

When hubby and I visited we did so with a 2 for 1 meal voucher,

The restaurant was very very busy when we were there, but we were given a table fairly quickly. We looked at the menu which was quite varied and made our order. We did wait a little longer than normal for the food, but when it came it was absolutely lovely and obviously freshly cooked, freshly cooked food being important to me.The food was very traditional Grilled Gammon for myself, Scampi and chips for my husband but it was very tasty and I would eat there again.,

The staff in here I think are great, they were rushed off their feet, but were still smiling, keen to please customers and I think that counts for a lot!
