Returned before Christmas 2013 from cruise M1331 Cape Verde & Africa with Fred Olsen on the Bramear. This is just a few lines to say how much my husband enjoyed this holiday. The food was superb, the service was efficient, understated and friendly and the in house show team we very good better than some brought in singers. Daytime entertainment included lecturers, classical pianist, quizzes and usual shipboard games. There is also a well stocked library with a daily paper. Although the ports may not have been to everyone’s taste I found the variation of places refreshing and especially liked Gran Tarajal Fuerteventura, a new port of call which was changed to at the last minute and was a lovely place. The ship tours were expensive but I was glad we booked the game reserve at Dakar as the city was very poor and dirty. The accommodation was a basic cabin but was clean and tidy and changed by Fred Olsen themselves before we arrived as they had complaints about fan noise in our original booked cabin, not many lines would do this of their own violation. The ship is sleek, small and very friendly. This was the first time we had tried the all inclusive package and at £10.00 per day per person was well worth it. Included was Stella, Boddingtons, canned beer, house wine and spirits and soft drinks. Also if you wished to purchase branded drinks these were half price. This is the third cruise we have been on with Fred Olsen and they go to some very different places and now have twice been on the first cruise to dock at new ports. I only wish they did more sailings from the north, Liverpool, Newcastle, Hull etc., as with all cruise lines.
