We booked our trip with Iglu Cruises and found them very helpful and efficient would recommend them. We selected a fly cruise and flew from Heathrow to New York and joined the QM2 there. The QM2 and Cunard pride themselves on "old traditions" by that I mean there are formal nights when ladies are expected to wear long or cocktail dresses and men are expected to wear dinner jacked or dark suit and tie. The informal nights men are expected to wear a jacket and can to chose not to wear a tie. There are casual dress buffet dining areas for anyone who does not want to dress up. But the dressing up adds to the ambiance on board and I quite enjoyed it although I am normally a casual dresser. The entertainment is first class with different and varied live shows on each evening. The cinema has normally two showings a day. Every evening a programme for the following day is delivered to your stateroom so you can plan your next day activities. You are not hounded to participate in any activity, it is up to you. The staff are all first class and very friendly. The food is excellent, you could eat all day if you wanted to. We particularly enjoyed the daily "afternoon tea". I would not recommend this ship for children, but I would certainly recommend it for disabled persons there were lots of people in wheelchairs and motorised wheelchairs. This is a lovely ship that keeps the old traditions. Five star plus.
