My greatest fears on holiday include feeling herded, finding nothing stimulating apart from sunshine and feeling a longing to be back home! The experience on our Regent Seven Seas cruise completely upturned my preconceptions of life at sea – the cruise snooze! Yes, the cruise was expensive – but we got what we paid for – a 6* experience. The accommodation was superb, a suite with every need anticipated. The nonsense of tipping was gone – this was truly a fully inclusive trip. Tipping was simply not expected or encouraged. The food was top quality, silver service al a carte. Drinks (yes that included spirits and champagne) were included. The atmosphere on board was relaxed – in the way perfection allows it to be! The all inclusive trips (a choice of up to 6 at every port) were superbly organised (how they managed to get us to every site before every other tour group still baffles me). The tour guides were clearly educated, local and knowledgeable – there was nothing they could not provide copious details on, even to the most inquiring mind. To arrive first at Bethlehem, Nazareth and other sites on our itinerary meant great atmosphere, no crowds and fantastic view of the site. The luxury came as elegance – not vulgarity. i would travel Regent Seven Seas again in a heartbeat – it really is a floating hotel – not a floating resort. Peace and calm at sea with entertainment as and when you want it – in fact anything available as and when you want it – great service, great food and great ports of call. What is not to like?
