My first river cruise, very enjoyable and relaxing. Food first class. Plentiful very good wines included at every meal plus champagne, cheese and other local produce tastings at other times. Only 50 passengers so very intimate. Staff very friendly and all mucked in. We saw captain washing up once! The guide, a historian, was brilliant. She met us in Paris and her commentary on the coach and the boat, including a night time tour on the Seine of Paris, was so interesting and always audible. Cabins, although small, were comfortable and managed ingenious storage space, ideal holiday for solo and older travellers because the Saga rep met us at St Pancras, had our luggage checked in, travelled with us so saw the luggage transferred right through to our cabins. There was no entertainment on board after dinner but that didn't worry me. There was one quiz before dinner and a talk on the history of France by the guide. All the excursions were included, mainly guided walking within everyone's capabilities in mediaeval villages and small towns on the rivers Seine, Loing and Yonne. I shall definitely go with Saga again on another river cruise.
