Six days on the barge Anacoluthe was truly delightful (my second trip on this vessel). She holds up to 45 passengers, but as there are always some solo travellers, this number is very rarely reached. Travelling slowly along the river Seine, with some interesting excursions and going through Paris at night was my idea of heaven. Cabins are small but adequate, and have heating/aircon; thedining room, bar and lounge are pleasant areas with comfortable seating and large windows. With the present chef Tony, the food was excellent. Good wine is provided at lunch and dinner, and at dinner there is a selection of three cheeses. Knowledgeable staff provide information about both the wine and the cheeses. I travelled with Saga, but believe Great Railway Journeys also use Anacoluthe. Ideal for couples and solos, I don't think this would be suitable for young children or teenagers. We had a particularly knowledgeable and fun onboard guide this time, and all the onboard staff were so pleasant and helpful. I thoroughly recommend this cruise, and more info can be found on the Saga website, and by Googling Anacoluthe.
