As it was my 60th birthday a friend and myself decided to take our first cruise to celebrate, We arrived in Miami after a nine hour flight from the united Kingdom, we arrived a day earlier than the cruise departure, and stayed overnight at the Miami beach resort and Spa, We had a very good breakfast at the hotel, the room was comfortable and the swimming pool was very nice although a little cold and a path led directly onto Miami Beach, there is a restaurant at the Hotel which we did not use, we did find it a bit of a treck to find a restaurant on collins avenue. The next morning we where picked up from the Hotel and taken to our ship. The Carnival Glory is the largest of the fleets ships, we boarded very easily and quickly,Our luggage was takea away, and we were asked to have a drink and something to eat as we could not go straight to our cabin. After an hour we made our way to our cabin which was bigger than we thought it would be and had everything we needed even a place under the bed to put our empty suitcase. It was a great experience as the ship made its way out of port we were escorted by jet skis and saw a great stretch of Miami Beach from the boat. The food on the ship was very good, definately catering for the Americans with wonderful breakfasts and many different restaurants to eat in, Drinks are quite expensive but they do have free lemonade and water if you need it, Our first port of call was Cozumel in Mexico, there are many excursions to go on we went on the twister boat ride which was a very fast speed boat which takes you over to a small island called passion island to spend the day with food and drink included we then took the return trip on twister it was great fun with the boat twisting around not at all scary for us at 60 we loved the thrill. We had one day at sea then onto Belize we didnt book any excursions here but went by tender to the port and although it was raining had many quirqy shops and cafes to look aroud, the next port was Isla Roatan Honduras, We took a fast boat around to the other side of the island to a bay called Maya key we sat on the beach and you could snorkel from the shore, we also had food included and we found a lovely swimming pool to have a relaxing swim in the hot sun.The next port we visited was Gran Caymen, we went on an excursion to see the sting rays, we went by small boat out into the sea and stopped on a sandbank, we went into the sea and the stingrays swam all around us and we had our photos taken it was fabulous to experience this, After this we went to the turtle farm and held the turtles and swam in a lagoon with turtles and fish. We then sailed back to Miami. The whole experience was magical and worth every penny for my 60th birthday, The cruise was very informal and their was no need to worry about what to wear although you could dress up in the evenings for dinner. We arrived back in Miami early in the morning and we decided to stay overnight at the Miami Beach Hotel, we caught a bus during the afternoon down to the Adventura Mall to do some last minute shopping, the bus stop is right outside the hotel and it only cost a couple of dollars on the bus. We left the next morning to catch our flight back to England having enjoyed a wonderful holiday.
