The whole thing was organised by JetlineCruise via Secret Escape. We boarded at Southampton. As we got out of the taxi our luggage was taken off by the crew and next time we saw it was in our stateroom. Very efficient check in procedure and welcome on board. The Queen Mary 2 is a grand ship in all respects. There is lots to do and keep you busy or relax as you wish. We were busy all the days on board. Our day started with an early start – 6 am in the amazing gym and then a hot tub on deck twelve followed by shower and sumptuous breakfast. There were activities like dance lessons – we learned to cha cha and tango and line dancing every day. We saw four of the latest films, Romeo and Juliet by RADA company. Dance and Italian extravaganza performed by the dance troop. Lots of very good lectures on famous entertainers. Planetarium was very good indeed. Last night at the Proms was brilliant. The crew of the QM2 are very good indeed and looked after us very well indeed. Dressing up every night and fine dining in the amazing restaurant. Most nights ended at around past midnight. There no chance of getting bored. Lots to keep one busy and lots and lots to eat – 24-7 if you wanted with great food. We arrived in New York on Sunday morning at 6 am and were in our Hotel in Madison Square by 7.20 am. We stayed at Affinia Manhattan, great hotel. Very central to everything. We were out by 8 am and had a great day in New York using the Day Hopper bus. We saw almost all of New York including Ground Zero, Central Park, Times Square, a boat tour around the harbour to include statue of Liberty. What an amazing city. We also had a night tour which was amazing still. You really need a week at least to see all of New York. Looking for another holiday already. New York has some of the most amazing buildings and also very friendly people. Next morning we had to board the train at PEN Station to travel to Niagara Falls on Canada side. The train journey was amazing with all the autumn colours. A great way to travel indeed. AMTRAX operated the trains and it was great. We arrived in Canada and after going through not so friendly Canadian customs – we usually get welcome to America – this time it was 'You are free to go'. Apart from that all the Canadians were great and we stayed at the Sheraton on the Fall ON with a view of the falls from our balcony. What an amazing hotel. Two great days at Niagara, using the WEGO bus. CAN$7 buys you a 24 hour pass and gets you around the whole of area on various routes. We did not managed to get our helicopter ride over the falls as the weather was too cloudy. However we had the best view from out hotel room so it did not matter. Also we did get a refund of £100.00 from JetlineCruise. We were transported to Toronto airport and flew back to London. We would highly recommend JetlineCruise for organising the whole trip so beautifully with great hotels in New York and Niagara Falls. The Queen Mary 2 was marvellous and would highly recommend it. The hotels – Affinia Manhattan and the Sheraton on the Falls on Canada were beautiful and would use again for sure. By the way this was my 60th birthday present from my beautiful wife. We had a ball and met some lovely people. Here's looking forward to our next cruise and visit to New York for a longer period. Will post some photos later.

Interesting to read about your QM2 crossing - we did the same cruise several years ago and I would agree with your comments about the ship. Glad the disembarcation has improved - this was our main complaint - it took us well over 4 hours to get off the ship and the guided tour of New York which was supposed to happen before our hotel drop off was cancelled as we, and the other passengers on this ship organised hotel drop off, were so late.
