In February of this year we had a wonderful break in Paignton, staying at the Redcliffe Hotel. This hotel is family run, but to a very high standard. It has all of the amenities expected, free parking, gym, indoor pool, outdoor pool (seasonal), bar, a lovely restaurant and a really nice Ballroom. The rooms were very clean in a hotel that I would describe as having a lot of character. The hotel is situated in an excellent position, with sea views that were a joy to behold. There are easy transport links to neighbouring towns, such as Brixham, Torquay, Totnes etc. The food was superb. All of the staff are ever so friendly and efficient and we enjoyed our stay tremendously. We have also stayed at various Hotels in Torquay that come under the banner of the TLH resort. The Victoria Hotel, The Toorak Hotel and The Derwent Hotel, all of which we can honestly say that we have enjoyed ourselves every time. All of the staff in these hotels were pleasant and the food was good. Accommodation was at times disappointing but you get what you pay for, when all said and done, you only need a place to rest your head at the end of the day. We think that there are so many things to do and see around the Torbay area you will spoilt for choice. Paignton Zoo, Babbacombe Model Village, Dart Valley Railway to name but a few are well worth a visit. We have been to the area many times but have never tired of the whole experience.
