I am keeping this review to the Mission district only. This is a really interesting area in SF full of colourful murals. It is predominantly Latino but a hotpot of many races. I loved the vibrancy of the area, the many different restaurants, and the friendly people. We stayed in someones house via AirBnB on their ground floor. We had our own living room, bathroom and bedroom in a lovely neighbourhood. We felt safe all the time despite a fair degree of poverty in the area. There is real hope and optimism there though.Lots of new internet start ups, independent shops, cafes etc. I loved the 'thrift' shops- there were many of these and I got some great shoe and clothes bargains. Also, there were many second hand book shops and we returned with 29 books in our thrift bought case! We loved the area and will definitely return.
