Going to see England play football would not normally be on my list of things to do at the weekend (unless David Beckham was playing maybe), but my husband won tickets to see England v Moldova, a couple of weeks ago and it was at the "New Wembley" so why not give it a go. We booked into a small hotel in Ealing named Hotel 55 which wasn't too far from the stadium and drove down to London for the game which was at 8pm on the Friday evening. The hotel was only fairly small but was bright, clean and comfortable and just right for what we wanted, a one night stay. It was reasonably priced and there was no outside noise no outside noise. We took a bus from right outside the hotel to the stadium and were really pleased we had made the effort. The stadium and football experience was exciting, we even got involved with the Mexican wave. The atmosphere was terrific and we didn't see any trouble at all and I was so glad I hadn't decided to stay at home and miss the whole thing. As we had tea and coffee making facilities in our room we didn't choose to stay for breakfast but it was available if we had wanted to take it. I don't think i'll be rushing off to watch the football again, although they do say Rio may be rather nice next year!
