I stayed in Ravello, on the Amalfi coast for seven nights in April 2011.

The reason for the holiday was that I was attending a wedding held in Ravello. My daughter was chief bridesmaid, her 2 year old daughter bridesmaid, and her18 month son pageboy.

Ravello is a very pretty town with amazing views of the Amalfi coast.

The wedding was held at the Hotel Palazzo Sasso in Ravello. What an amazing hotel – the staff were polite and helpful, the five course wedding meal was superb and the hotel beautiful. The whole wedding was like you would see in films.

We did not stay at the Hotel Palazzo Sasso but if I could afford to I would definitely love to stay in this hotel.

Although Ravello is beautiful, it was not an ideal place to stay for a week with young children or someone with mobility problems. Ravello is very hilly and has lots of steps. If I were to travel to Ravello again, I would stay in the Hotel Palazoo Sasso for a couple of days and then stay in Sorrento for the rest of the holiday. Transport & food were expensive in Ravello.

Nevertheless I would love to visit the Amalfi coast agian soon.

I've visited Ravello several times whilst holidaying in Sorrento. It is indeed a very picturesque place but I would agree with the reviewer that it is not ideal for anyone with mobility problems. It's a stop off point on the Amalfi Drive which gives the opportunity to see the beautiful gardens and the views of the coast.

We visited Ravello, when staying at Sorrento. It was a great place to visit for a day, with spectacular views, but I agree, I think Sorrento is a better base to stay, being more central.
