We have recently stayed in a holiday cottage near Shrewsbury. We enjoyed a wonderful view from our cottage, and especially enjoyed watching the sunset over Wales.

We thought the parking in Shrewsbury rather expensive, but it was free after 6pm. We enjoyed a lunchtime concert of music at St Chad's church. These are regular events, and just require a retiring donation. We listened to a lovely concert of classical guitar music. Unknown to us, after the concert you can have lunch in the church hall that again, just requires a donation. A generous spread with hot drinks provided.

We also went up a Tower that belongs to the National Trust, but is only open occasionally. This is the last remaining tower of the town walls.

The large riverside park, is lovely and the flowers and fountains inThe Dingle, were really stunning.

There are a wealth of National Trust places to visit in the vicinity, and we especially enjoyed Sunnycroft near Telford. Though only a relatively small property there were many fascinating stories to be told, and we found it a most welcoming property.

The weather was kind to us, and I would like to visit this area again.
