We were on a private tour to Indonesia which included a 6 night cruise from Bali to Flores. We flew to Bali from Kuala Lumpur and had 2 nights at the Segara Village – this was a ‘village’ type resort with an excellent breakfast, but we decided to eat our evening meals in the village of Sanur. We were then taken to meet the other members of the cruise – 2 individual tourists and 8 more employees of SeaTrek. The phinisi ship was very interesting and took us on the cruise – a mix of snorkelling/swimming stops and visits to Indonesian villages, ending with our visit to Rinca & Komodo where we were able to see the dragons. We had also stopped in Wera, where they build these ships – of all sizes – and that was a very interesting experience. Our only problem was that it was the first cruise of the season, after the re-fit, and we had some evening rainstorms which caused leaks in our cabin and some of the wet wood stain marked our clothes. We should have booked a later cruise! Anyway, we flew back to Bali and had an excellent stay for 2 nights at Komenaka, Monkey Forest. The staff could not do enough for us – a fascinating place to end our holiday.
