We stayed in Lepanto, a street named for the first battle in which the moors were driven defeated and driven from Spain and a short walk from the “mushroom” or to give it it’s official name “The Metropol Parasol” This is a good attraction to visit as you get fantastic views of Seville from the top. It cost 3 Euros to take the lift to the top once there, it is an easy walk along the pathways for those who are fit or even if you have slight walking difficulties. If in a wheelchair it is possible to get around but you would need someone to help you negotiate the shallow steps as the path slopes upwards.

There is a cafe on the top too. We went on a lovely sunny day and it made all the difference.

Under the Metropol Parasol is a Roman archaeological site which you can also visit.
beside this is a market where you can buy traditional Spanish foods, fruit, vegetables, cheeses, fish, meat and gifts. We bought some great bread and cheeses.

In the square there are plenty of cafes. We stopped for breakfast in one of them and 4 coffee’s, 2 toast and jam and 2 tostada y tomate and the bill came to only 10 Euros.
Service was excellent and the waiter was very friendly.
