We recently visited Llangollen in North Wales. As keen motorhomers and dog owners we are always on the look out for dog friendly pubs we can call at either during or after a long walk.

The Ponsonby Arms came to our rescue on one of the few very hot days during August after a 12 mile walk.

The pub is very near to the town centre and a short distance from the canal path where horsedrawn carriages take smiling visitors on pleasant journeys along the canal.

The Ponsonby is a very friendly and welcoming pub serving an excellent selection of craft beers and ciders. There is a nice garden sitting above the riverside walk which provides a relaxing atmosphere for visitors.

The landlady is very helpful and provides advice on the beers she has on tap.

Food is avaialble and the prices looked very reasonable.

This pub is now on our list for future visits to Llangollen. It is highly recommended.
