We just had a fantastic break in historic Boston. We are from the UK, so already had quite a lot of knowledge of the area from our schooldays. The area is not called New England for nothing, driving around you are familiar with the place names. There are lots of places to visit, especially if you want to discover America's beginnings as a nation plus connections with the Kennedys, George Washington, Harvard, etc., etc.. The waterfront area is a wonderful place to just hang around and people watch, eat or take a trip on the bay. We had a great ferry boat ride to Salem, a brilliant day out and very reasonable ticket price. Travelling around is so easy, with the Metro, underground trains, buses, trolleys, etc.. Quincy Market is very lively, a huge choice of food outlets, street entertainers, shops. etc., what more could you want? Lovely sunshine all week made it a very special holiday.
