In the dining room in the evening the food was cold, we had to ask for it to be hot. The menu choice was not interesting. One main choice one day was falafel and the tahini was hot and it had separated. The vegetables were the same every day, mixed french beans, carrot and broccoli and tasteless, probably out of the freezer. The chips looked thin and from a freezer. We stopped having a starter with salad. One day the salad leaves were mouldy brown and the next day it was sitting in water and oil – very unappetising.

In the dining room at any meal time they were constantly trying to sell you fresh orange juice. In the evening they were constantly trying to sell you steak or lobster tails. No more tea/coffee after dinner with a chocolate, it wasn’t offered, you had to ask. The only speciality restaurant was Japanese. Gone are the little chocolate on your pillow. At every port you have to pay for the shuttle bus into town. Unfortunately, I had to use the hospital and that was excellent. The care, doctors and nurses were superb.

We had bought a drinks package but others had not and added 15% on each bill soon mounted up. We weren’t asked and 2 euros were added to our bill for UNICEF. We didn’t mind giving but not to be asked was wrong. It’s not the money it’s the principle of just taking.
