We went on the same trip from Budapest and ended up in Prague. We enjoyed every minute everyone on board seemed to enjoy it. All the excursions were good and the entertainment on board was quaint but very amusing. It did not require a huge amount of effort and the food was excellent. I could recommend it to anyone over the age of 50. In Prague I would recommend the non tourist side of Charles Bridge to see John Lennon’s wall and the yellow submarine pub etc along the river. Would have liked a little more time in Budapest.

I'd be interested to know whether there were many solo travellers and whether they sat together at meal times. It varies so much. Thanks

I've been contemplating a Saga river cruise for next year and as it will be the first time I've booked with Saga, I'd love to ask you some questions...

Did you get a home pick up at the beginning of the holiday and get returned home at the end? If so how did this work? How many other people were picked up on the way?

How did you get from UK to Budapest - did you fly?

Where you met by a Saga rep at each of the different stop offs on the way there and back and did this work smoothly (have heard horror stories of when a rep hasn't been there...)

What were the Saga reps like - were they attentive to passenger needs? Did they accompany you all the time on the cruise?

Were all the excursions included in the price. If not what sort of price were they? These can suddenly start to add quite a lot to the holiday....

Did you book through a travel agent, internet or phone to Saga? If by phone, what are they like to deal with? Were they able to answer all your questions accurately and was information sent out about the holiday accurate (again have caught a cold here with some other companies...)

About the cruise - where did you stop off on the way and how many stops did you have each day? Was there a choice of excursions or was it the standard 'city tour'. Apart from Budapest where you said you would have liked more time, did you have enough time at the different stops? Did the boat berth near the centre of each place and were you able to get in easily under your own steam if you didn't want to join the excursion?

What was the scenery like on the cruise?

What were the languages spoken on the boat and did the boat staff have reasonable English?
