We have just returned from a 2 week Mediterranean cruise on the Cunard Queen Victoria. We had a great time even though the itinerary had to be changed to remove Turkey stops. Instead we saw Greek islands (Rhodes, Volos, Santorini, Mykonos, Katakolon) as well as visiting Athens, Kotor Montenegro and Venice.

Cunard seems to have got the balance right with on-board entertainment and shopping. There is plenty going on but it isn’t hyped up to get you spending more than you want to or feeling that you have to go to the various entertainments on offer.
The best thing for us was that the Pursers Office lent us a wheel chair so that we could go out and about on port days and Dad wasn’t exhausted by the time we got from ship to town. The ship knew Dad had mobility issues and placed us in the middle section of the ship near the lifts so Dad rarely had to walk too far (except if he got lost!).

Service from the dining rooms and housekeeping was impeccable. The food was excellent quality.

We went on two tours; the Athens Acropolis and museum tour was excellent but the Volos Mountain Villages was poor value (the first village very pretty with lots of small shops and the second village a waste of time). Many of the trips were too active for my Dad but most Ports had something to see or do when you got off the ship (mostly shopping and cafes, so great for shopoholics).

There is an adults only pool and sundeck area as well as a pool and sundeck area for everyone to use. The evening entertainment was good and excellent.
I have no hesitation in recommending this cruise and Cunard.

Thank you. The tours can suddenly start working out expensive - particularly if they aren't great value...

I'm not sure how many rooms (I just looked on Cunard website for you and couldn't find any stats) I would say that the QV is an ocean liner but not one of the very big ones. Decks 4-8 are accommodation floors, deck 9 the lidos and buffet. It took about 8 mins to walk all around the ship on the promenade deck 3.
Most ports of call we arrived at by breakfast time and stayed all day until tea time or later. Each stop had plenty of tours available with prices from $40 upwards. Our Volos 1/2 day tour was $58 (and not worth it). Our full day Athens Acropolis and museum tour was $86 and was worth it.

Can I ask the idiot's question - how many passengers are there on the ship - is it one of the big cruise liners?

How long did you get at the different ports of call and was there was there plenty to do at the different places apart from shopping and cafes?
