As P&O regulars we decided to try Cunard to see how it comperes. First impressions were great – fast and efficient check in procedure, luggage delivered to the room quickly so we soon settled in. There was also a bottle of complimentary champagne on ice ready for us in the cabin which was a nice touch. The cabin was also very spacious with lots of storage options and plenty of handing space. The food in the Lido buffet area was really good & less of a scrum than other ships. We used this for breakfast & lunch. I was later delighted to find that breakfast in bed was free of charge so made use of this lovely luxury. Evening meal were in the Brittania Restaurant. We were on a table of 6 with Australians & Americans. The food was OK, not quite a good as expected but the service was good. The service was good, understated throughout the ship & efficient, even so we think they asked for too much so we altered the tip on account with no difficulty. The entertainment was fairly average – not enough variety but would suit those who prefer classical music. Quiz nights in the 'pub' were popular. Downside was cabin 4002 location – it was the furthest forward on deck 4 so we suffered from noise from the lowering of the hatches, bow thrusters & anchors being used. Overall, I enjoyed the cruise and the stylish, understated service, beautiful public areas on the ship but feel that P&O suits us better – a bit livelier & better entertainment.

We love Cunard! The food when we went was really good, and was better quality than the Ventura. Our favourite ship is The Queen Victoria.

Good to read your review. I will be travelling on Queen Elizabeth just before Christmas, looking forward to it and how it compares to P&O.
