Formal is as formal does.

Parking and Luggage handing
Everybody was superbly efficient. Our luggage was waiting at our cabin door.

Painfully slow. We had to wait two hours to board. Problem not fully explained to us.

This was a good average size and the balcony is fairly large. The bed is the most comfortable we have ever found at sea. Our stewardess was friendly, obliging and efficient. Bath robes were changed after one week.

The safe is at shoulder height and easy to use.

Dining Room
Service was on the whole slow and the menu uninspiring. It is a pity to be all dressed up and be served very average meals. Generally they do not understand how to cook fish. The secret is too not cook i so long that it becomes dry. The meat was not as good as we have had on Holland America and Celebrity.

The Decor
The whole ship is beautifully reminiscent of the old liners. Lovely wood and marble all over the place.

Great artwork and memorabilia of the old Cunard ships.

Very good plays were staged, what a shame there were not more Neil Simon scenes.

The song and dance routines were good but we did not recognise the tunes. Even the "Sixties special" had no tunes we knew. Specialty acts ranged from tip top to mediocre. You have to be lucky who you get. The cruise director is a lovely lady and an asset to the ship.

If the boxes are not taken you can occupy one at no charge but bring a drink from the bar.

Cruise Staff
Great crowd of boys and girls, always fun to be with at quizzes and sports.

The usual stuff. We often do our own thing and enjoy it more. If you are not self sufficient take the tour and be safe.

Very good selection. We particularly liked the Golden Lion pub where you could enjoy a drink, lunch and music. The best days were when the musicians turned up for a traditional jazz session.

Top Deck Sports
Great lawn bowls, croquet and paddle tennis.

Probably the best ballroom on the high seas.

Some of the best I have heard. Talks on Concorde, The Cold War, Submarines, and of course the ports.

Cadiz is a lovely city but take a trip to Seville and see the Alcazar.

Messina is very ordinary. Take a tour to Mount Etna or Taormina.

Kefalonia. Pretty Greek Island. Take a tour as there is not much in town.

Korcula birthplace of Marco Polo. Tour the island but also visit the old town.

Efficient and ahead of time.
