We’ve just got back from our first Airbnb and are now completed converted. We will no longer be looking to expensive cottage rental companies when we are looking for a place to stay with our dogs. Hopefully the experience at the cottage we stayed at in Devon is typical of what we’ll get in the future. We’d recommend anyone trying out Airbnb, just do your research and use your own criteria in your searches to find properties that will suit your needs. For example we need dog friendly but also as I’m disabled, that needs to be catered for too. It was very easy to find something for us and in the school holidays too (we have a teenage child)!

I think we will need to get our confidence in the U.K. before venturing abroad! Thanks for tip about Superhosts.

Like you, we decided to give Airbnbs a try. We've stayed in six now, all excellent.
The last was in Bergen, before a Hurtigruten cruise. This gave us a few days to wind down a bit, explore the City and its surroundings and board our ship already relaxed and in holiday mode ;-)
We've always opted for Superhosts so far and been glad that we did.
