Great excitement for two farm girls, 7 & 9 who had never been on a plane or left the country. So a very early start to our local airport of Exeter flying Tui to Mahon the capital. A bumpy ride & exciting fast landing all added to the fun. A pleasant taxi ride 20 mins long to the villa. It was not ready for us but the pool was looking beautiful. We naughtily let the girls have a dip to cool off as it was 84 deg! We tried to find the famous fishing village of Binibeca which is a tourist attraction for many visitors.

The ex James Villa was perfect. A view of the sea. A bedroom each, lovely balcony for meals & a pool to die for, for swimming mad girls. 5 minutes walk to the Supermarket which was disappointing & hard to find enough choice for a week. There was a bus stop T at the end of the road. A little tourist train to take you to the beaches but you could walk to a lovely bay in 15 minutes. With a delightful bar right on the rocks edge. It was called Los Nicaragua Eros on the beach Playa de Binibeca Saint Luis. Beautiful boats came in here to shelter. Sadly one night there was a wild storm which washed the jelly fish in. The water was so clear you could see them! But the locals also pointed out warnings. They did go a day later.

We took a bus to the Centre of Mao & caught a Yellow Catamaran to go round the famously deep harbour. Seeing Admiral Nelson’s house, beautiful waterfront houses & boats. Worth it.
