We visited the Azores for 7 days as I fancied some hiking in different terrain. We chose the Lince Great due to the central location in Ponte Del Garda on the Island of Sao Miguel. The hotel is situated close to the ring road approx 2 miles by road from the airport. (Taxi 10 Eu).

There is a gym, hot tub, a half and half (Indoor and outdoor pool) and a sauna on the ground floor. Parking is below ground. The hotel is large and generally very clean with good lifts to all floors. The bedrooms are of a good size and the beds comfortable, unfortunately some of the furniture is worn and has seen better days. When we were there 2 rooms didnt have a working fridge, we had one of them. That aside the rooms have a free safe, aircon and wifi.

The Rack rate was steep and around 170Eu however we paid far less than that.
Speaking to one of the managers, he stated that the owners hadn’t put as much back into updating the hotel as they perhaps should.

The staff are friendly and helpful. Even though it is on the outskirts of the town centre there are plenty of places to eat within a 10 minute walk and a nearby supermarket.
The breakfast was all you can eat, buffet style, both hot, cold continental and cereals, we stayed for a meal one night, again a buffet style dinner, it was adequate however better options are close by, cheaper too.

All in all, for what we paid it was fine, 3 stars and in a good location.

I really loved the Azores. I don't know this hotel but when we went , we stayed on five different islands, mostly staying in Quintas which are smaller and in pretty locations. We flew between the islands . Worked really well apart from high winds delaying out trip to Flores. We arranged everything independent through Archpaelago Azores which I can really recommend for anyone wanting to see a bit more of these very different islands.
