We’ve just come back from two weeks in Vietnam. A country I’ve always wanted to visit and it didn’t disappoint. We had four bases from Phu Quoc in the south to Hanoi in the north. The people, culture, food and sights will stay with me forever. An organised chaos kind of country, with people so ready to help you, and having an enormous pride in their country and what it has overcome in its history. We made memories to last a lifetime and everything was so ridiculously low cost. It felt very much like Thailand was, back in the early 90’s. Absolutely glorious.

My 80th birthday treat was a trip to Galapagos Islands. My friend & I went with Hurtigruten Adventure cruise . Even with some restricted mobility I was well catered for on excursions. Although we were requested to stay at a distance from animals, they came up to people to investigate us. From a fluffy chick to Iguanas which walked right through the middle of our group and a seal pup tapping on the leg of a wet suited snorkeler on the beach. Was that a “come and play” or” feed me”?
We saw all the animals and birds you would expect to see on the islands we visited and we saw a penguin a long way from its usual habitat. A wonderful trip.

Hi Eric, when you make it to Vegas it’s well worth a trip to a nearby town called Henderson which is about half an hour’s drive away. There’s a large shopping mall there and everything is half the price of the Vegas shops which are mostly full-price designer shops and little else. Enjoy!

I’m having our annual reunion of some nursing friends in Harrogate. We started training together in 1966.
We’ve got a VW T5 Campervan.
This time last year we upgraded it by changing the bed to a more versatile one, and added heating to extend our campervanning season.
Unfortunately last year we didn’t get the chance to enjoy the fruits of our labours, as my Dad got ill in July and subsequently moved into a care home. The rest of the year was spent clearing out and preparing his house for sale to fund his care.
Dad passed away in January, and his home has now sold.
He enjoyed hearing about our campervanning adventures, and we’re ready to seize the day and have as many campervan trips as we possibly can this year. This will include a trip to North Wales to lay his ashes with my Mum’s.
While we may not get abroad this year, we’re looking forward to seeing more of the UK in our warmer, comfier campervan, and living life to the fullest.
We just need the Great British Weather to be kind to us!!

I moved into a new flat last year and it has a wonderful wrap around balcony. I am so looking forward to having all the family around to have snacks and drinks on the balcony. My previous residence had a large garden that was difficult to control and it is such a relief to just have a few pots to manage! I can’t wait for the really good weather to start so that I can entertain out there!

SOME WARM BUT NOT OVERBEARINGLY HOT DAYS
i’m looking forward to light nights and warmer weather
Now retired hubby and I love walking whether it be daily walks along the waterways and quiet farm tracks of our local fenland village or exploring the area around the campsites we use with our campervan. We always dress appropriately for the weather and rarely get put off by it (unless its icy underfoot which as we are both 76 daren’t risk a fall) However as hardened as we are this cold , wet weather is really beginning to get us down. Oh for summer to arrive with warmer weather so we can get out and about in far fewer layers!
I’m looking forward to evening strolls along the promenade without having to wear a coat or cardi. Somehow I have my doubts about doing that unless I can go on holiday somewhere warm.
I’m looking forward to spending precious time with my new baby Granddaughter.

I am most looking forward to my second baby grandson ‘Beauden’ arriving this summer in June , I will be at my daughter’s side through her planned caesarean section to meet my grandson and I am so excited. Then I have a big birthday to celebrate in July and I am really looking forward to seeing my family & friends all at the same time.
This year we’re looking forward to going to Sarlat, Dordogne. We go here on big family holidays, spend the day doing our own things then returning to our chalet and all meeting at the Dordogne river to swim/float downstream in the cool fresh river after a hot day exploring

I’m really looking forward to continuing work on my garden for pollinators and birds. I love the sight of blackbirds hopping around on the lawn grabbing worms and the sound of bees finding pollen on blossoms.
