Introduction

Norwegian Coastal Voyage

Hurtigruten has been an integral part of Norwegian life since 1893. Still used as a means of transport for locals, Hurtigruten also welcomes travellers who are after a different kind of cruise.

Hurtigruten Best Specialist or Expedition Cruise Line 2018

Sailing daily from Bergen up through the Arctic Circle to Kirkenes and back, our fleet of modestly-sized ships are capable of getting much closer to the coastline and communities living at the 34 ports we visit.

Authentic Norway

With the smaller size comes a more intimate experience and unique opportunity to get an authentic glimpse into Norwegian culture.

Named by many as ‘the world’s most beautiful voyage’, the emphasis is on the natural beauty the Norwegian coast provides.

Each Season Brings a New Reason

Each time of the year boasts a completely different experience; from the Northern Lights in winter to the Midnight Sun in summer and three seasons in one voyage during spring. It’s always a good time to head on a Hurtigruten voyage.

Connect with Your Inner Explorer

For a more adventurous experience, you can travel further afield with Hurtigruten and explore stunning landscapes in Spitsbergen, Greenland, Iceland and even Antarctica and South America.

Aiming to become the world’s first plastic-free cruise company

Hurtigruten is banning all unnecessary single-use plastic from the summer of 2018. Everything from plastic straws, drink mixers, plastic glasses, coffee lids, plastic bags – and all other single-use plastic items that Hurtigruten’s 400,000 passengers and 2,500 employees encounter on a day to day basis – is being removed from all ships in the fleet.

Chief executive Daniel Skjeldam said: “Plastic pollution is the single biggest threat to our oceans. Hurtigruten operates in some of the most vulnerable areas in the world. This means that we carry a special responsibility to protect these areas for the local population and future generations of explorers".
