Traditional British cruise experience
No-fly cruising holidays aboard smaller to mid-size cruise ships with the added convenience of sailing from 12 different UK ports, London Tilbury, Harwich, Hull, Newcastle Tyne, Dundee, Liverpool, Bristol Avonmouth, Bristol Port, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Belfast and Cobh – bringing cruising closer to home.
Recognising that many British cruisers prefer the more traditional cruising experience, CMV ocean ships offer a more leisurely and friendly ‘home from home’ style of cruising and are able to reach a much wider choice of interesting and remote ports of call. The emphasis is very much on attaining high levels of customer satisfaction on cruise holidays and providing attentive and friendly service standards.
A tantalising selection of destinations include the spectacular Land of the Northern Lights, the breathtaking Norwegian Fjords, the glorious Baltic & Russia, Iceland & the Northern Isles, Canary Islands & Madeira, Spain & Portugal, Canada, Greenland, Amazon & West Indies, South America, grand Round the World cruises and closer to home, the ever popular British Isles.
In 2021, the splendid Amy Johnson will become the proud new flagship of the CMV fleet. At 70,285grt, this impressive mid-sized cruise ship carries about 1400 passengers. Amy Johnson is a beautifully stylish, comfortable and expansive ship. She offers a feeling of spaciousness and yet still retains that sense of intimacy and camaraderie so loved by CMV guests. Entertainment venues include the stylish Dome Observatory & Nightclub and the multi-tiered Palladium Show Lounge. There are 11 different lounges and bars, attractive Waterfront Restaurant and three specialty dining options. Other facilities include a bridge and card room, crafters studio, casino, library, gym and spa. And, out on deck there are two swimming pools and four whirlpools.
This splendid medium-sized cruise ship enjoys a fine reputation on the British cruise market. She underwent an extensive refit in 2015 and was further upgraded in the spring of 2017 ahead of the start of her maiden CMV season. Columbus carries about 1400 guests combining spacious surroundings and friendly service with stylish entertainment and delicious cuisine. She is the perfect choice for those looking for comfort and a wide range of facilities but still prefer a feeling of intimacy and personal attention when compared with the ‘mega’ resort style ships built today.
Magellan carries about 1250 passengers accommodated in 726 cabins. There are 150 superior inner and ocean view cabins set aside for single occupancy. Read more. Combining expansive, comfortable surroundings and friendly service with stylish entertainment and delicious cuisine, Magellan is the perfect choice for those looking for a greater range of on board facilities. However, she still retains a feel of intimacy and personal attention when compared with the ‘mega’ resort style ships built today. No climbing walls or ice-skating rinks and no children!
With her traditional profile, beautiful teak decks and distinctive dark blue hull, Marco Polo is a truly classic ocean liner. She can accommodate up to 800 guests within a warm and friendly atmosphere that reflects a truly intimate cruise experience. Over many years, Marco Polo has built a strong following on the British Market and has an enviable reputation for offering a truly fantastic choice of exceptional value destination cruising. Facilities include a choice of restaurants, five lounge areas, a library, card room, pool and whirlpools and the Jade Wellness Centre with gym and sauna.
Vasco da Gama
With an enviable reputation and established following on the international cruise market, the premium 1220 passenger Vasco da Gama combines contemporary decor with a more traditional cruise style. Vasco da Gama is small to mid-size and is a wonderful new addition to the CMV fleet. The onboard facilities are impressive and include a choice of five lounge bars, four entertainment venues and six dining options, each with its own individual style. Vasco da Gama offers extensive deck areas and promenades, and two swimming pools with the main pool benefitting from a retractable roof.
