Welcome to the world of opera, ballet and classical music holidays! Travel for the Arts is the UK’s leading music specialist for over 30 years, organising unique and unforgettable experiences to the world’s finest opera houses and music festivals in escorted and bespoke holidays. Travel for the Arts give clients the opportunity to visit many countries across the globe in order to enjoy a high level of artistic performances in a relaxed manner with small, like-minded groups of friendly aficionados. The programmes are all carefully planned and expert-led, and include top category tickets, knowledgeable speakers, guided backstage visits and, occasionally, the chance to meet the artists themselves.

Why travel with Travel for the Arts?

A wide range of tours allows opera, music and ballet lovers to sample the delights of carefully selected performances all over the world with particular emphasis on premieres, new productions, exceptional cast names and award-winning festivals. In addition, the portfolio of destinations expands annually, introducing lesser-known theatres and destinations, whilst continuing to visit the traditional favourites.

Likewise, hotels, restaurants and sightseeing programmes are meticulously chosen and, in many cases, include tickets for performances featuring the great artists of the day that may otherwise be unavailable. Groups rarely exceed 25 in number, are accompanied by experienced tour managers – and in some cases, lecturers – and visit many renowned sites of interest. Their carefully constructed Travel for the Arts itineraries also enable travellers to enjoy time at leisure or to explore independently if they wish.

Travel for the Arts is a member of the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) and all air holidays and flights are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. They are annually vetted as a member of these associations to ascertain that a high standard of service is maintained.

The team of travel experts endeavours to ensure that all clients receive the most detailed care and attention, from the booking process to the tour experience itself. The high quality of service is acknowledged by 98% of clients who say their holiday satisfaction is either very good or excellent. More importantly, three out of four travellers are returning clients who then introduce their friends to Travel for the Arts!

A tempting trio of ballets are on offer at Munich’s Staatsoper in May. In Jewels, George Balanchine uses three gem stones – emeralds, rubies and diamonds – as the inspiration for this three-act ballet. Yuri Grigorovich’s powerful production of Spartacus tells the tale of the slave uprising against the Romans, set to the thrilling music of Khachaturian, whilst John Neumeier selected piano works by Chopin to accompany his 1978 ballet The Lady of the Camellias, based on Alexandre Dumas fils’ famous 19th-century novel.
