Agreed but it has lost some appeal since my first visit nearly 20 years ago, with massive hotel and road building programs. You will need a hire car to get about; and you will need to be very careful with speed limits, which seem to change erratically and are rigorously enforced – to the extent that I am wary of returning, fearing what penalties may have been logged against my passport. It is very difficult if not impossible to cross the border in a hire car and, even on foot, you may not be able to cross from the north to the south if you have entered the north directly (via Ercan airport).
North Cyprus is my favorite place to visit great hotels and beaches wonderful food which is all cheap
