Nice one Alan, I suspect you’re looking forward to it already! David
I am there on the Marco Polo on the 31st March.
That’s a lot of ships. I sailed into Amsterdam on a cruise a few years back, a great experience!
I have done a review of Amsterdam on Silver Travel Advisor TV channel, not a cruise, I went there by train on that occasion but if anyone is interested it does show sights and attractions of this city. Just click on the TV channel link
The 2012 season in Amsterdam started with Marco Polo on January 4th and will end with P&O Oceana on December 31st.
Amsterdam expects 155 cruise ships, of which 84 are turnaround calls.
The Celebrity Constellation, Brilliance of the Seas, MSC Lirica, HAL’s Prinsendam, Costa Deliziosa and Costa Magica will use Amsterdam as their homeport for this season. Marco Polo operates partial turnarounds.
Newcomers to the port in 2012 include AIDAmar, Holland America Line’s Ryndam and Celebrity Reflection and the Bremen.
Total passenger numbers will be around 360.000, also breaking the 2011 record. For 2013, 144 ships have already been booked.
