Trams, trams and more trams

This is the tram that runs on the Corcovado rack railway in Brazil. The railway runs through the forest to the summit of the Corcovado Mountain where the Christ the Redeemer statue sits at the summit:

Sounds like a council wasting taxpayers money.

Lets have another pic

When I was young and lived in Leeds, they used to have a tram system which was eventually
phased out. Many years later, whilst I lived in Wales, they decided to reintroduce them and
laid all the tracks. Some time later, a friend sent me a cutting from the Yorkshire Evening Post
which stated that the Council had decided that the proposed tram system was not going to be
cost efficient, so they tarmac-ed over them. Doh!!!!

That’s right Gill. They have done a magnificent job of keeping the old cable cars, street cars etc. running and people do group that who system under the collective heading of trams. It much be a real tourist draw for them.

Good pics., Steve – when you say the word ‘trams’ I think you automatically think for SF!

I wonder if they deliberately tried to make that look like a face?

Glad it’s not just me – I’ve always thought cars and buses had faces!
