Lucky you – please post the link once you’ve been. We’ve spent many happy holidays walking in the forest, and feel priviledged to have known the valley before the dam was built. There are some great walks.

There have been several posts about the night sky and particularly Northern Lights.
One of the best places in England for star gazing is Northumberland as their is less light pollution once you move away from places like Newcastle. Northumberland Foest Park and Kielder Water and Forest Park have officially been awarded ‘Dark Sky Status’ by the International Dark Skies Association.
Kielder Observatory runs a series of events looking at the night sky using their powerful telescopes.
