I don’t think the garlic would go with the apple pie?

True enough. I resisted the late night snack anyway.

It was worth it for the tin alone…it’s got the full traditional logo on it and all the recipes from 1886 or whenever…I’ve actually been on their website and complained because there’s nothing on it…with a product like that they could make a fortune on products and memorabilia.

It’s funny you know…I did the same to Lyon’s coffee website and "complained" in the same way that they weren’t making enough of it and I think they’ve pinched my idea for free…they now do a retrospective of all their past coffee tin designs going back way back when…

Timpson’s Shoes website is a good one…gives you the history of all the past crusty old Directors and when and how they died (?!!) and there’s this Timpson family tree, Timpson Manor House depicting where it all began and I remember thinking…I’m going to live there one day. I don’t know why I thought that..just one of those notions you get…

Go on, meet the Timpsons…you know it a makes sense

I’ve actually got this promotional 2kg tin of Colman’s Mustard Powder that my local shop was giving away for a couple of quid

Now that is a real bargain. I am very envious… we get through a tremendous amount of mustard powder in all sorts of dishes. It is great in cheese sauce, ham glaze, a good dollop goes into stews and mince…

You can’t get enough garlic can you ? I can’t anyway. Don’t know what that says about me.

Probably Honey & English Mustard for me. In separate jars of course. I’ve actually got this promotional 2kg tin of Colman’s Mustard Powder that my local shop was giving away for a couple of quid

I do this honey and mustard marinade with diced pork. It’s to die for.

Pepper Mill followed by Garlic.

(having just mentioned Tea & Apple Pie on another thread & now this…….is it too late for a snack?)

Fads come and go but what are the essentials you couldn’t manage with in the cupboard when cooking?

Top of my list would be HP sauce followed by Coleman’s mustard powder and then Lea and Perrin’s Worcester sauce.
