I need a lot of sleep, so, in general, it’s to bed 10.30-11.00 and up at 8.30-9.00 – sleeping straight through, apart from a bathroom trip – unless the dreaded alarm clock needs employing for an early start.

Lucky old you Gill, I never lay my head on the pillow before midnight and very often its one o’clock-ish. I wish I could sleep longer as I’m always up by eight – I don’t nap in the daytime either…..

I start to get into my stride around 10pm….once the dog’s had her final walk. That’s when I really get buzzing on my computer…..OH in his office, supposedly working on his computer, but from the odd beeps and whirrs, I think some of the 2nd hand games he buys are having an airing. One of us will see it’s almost 2am, and begin the bed time rituals….

I’m no better, some months on….the hours get all out of sync, because getting up late= not wanting to go to bed…. Every now and then we break the habit, and rise very early, especially as G still works some days- then the bad habits creep back in……

Why is it that when you are on holiday you go to bed late and get up early yet never feel tired??

I know what you mean Alan, when I retire for the evening I end up just watch TV for hours before
sleep eventually comes.. Could be the excitement I guess….

Like you David I am not a morning person,7am is still the middle of the night to me. OH is a early bedder,10pm most nights. He gets up at 7am every day and goes for his newspaper and any shopping we need. 10pm is when I have total control of the remote control……….

That made me smile Janet, we had a rule in our house when the children were young, they had the TV from when they got home from school until 6pm and then my good-lady had the TV until 10pm when I gained control for as long as I wanted.

Now I have the TV all day, wifey still has it until 10pm and then its mine……trouble is I only have it on to see the news at 1pm so I haven’t really gained a lot – I suppose its there if I want to watch it during the day…
